Four members of the Akau Hana Canoe Club were involved with the Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Voyaging Society and their voyage to Kure Atoll. The folks from Soul Fabric Films www.soulfabric.net are making a documentary film about the Society and their journey. View the trailer now!

50th Anniversary Catalina Channel Crossing
This year on September 12, 2009 marks the 50th crossing of the Catalina Channel and the birth of Outrigger Paddling in California. The article by Uncle Bud Hohl brings this historical moment into perspective. My first crossing was about 27 years ago and my first ocean crossing and one I will never forget as a Novice paddler.
